| Champion auction was established in 1996 by
iAsure company president Michael Chou. Champion auction
continues to be a leading seller of rare Asian coins in
Hong Kong, and has a proven history of bringing record auction
prices for Asian numismatics. Just two examples of the outstanding
results we have achieved can be seen in our recent December
2007 auction where an 1853 Xianfeng 1000 cash pattern realized
US $103,000, becoming the first Chinese cash coin to exceed
US$100,000 at auction and more than doubling the previous
record. A Szechuan Province dollar realized US $36,800 in
the same auction, more than three times the previous record
and ten times the pre-auction estimate.
Champion president Michael Chou first became involved in
coin auctions in 1994 by including a mail bid auction in
his Journal of East Asian Numismatics. Taking his next step
in 1996, Mr. Chou decided to expand the business by hosting
a series of stand-alone auctions. From 2001 to 2005 iAsure
held a series of eBay co-brand online auctions in Hong Kong,
Singapore, Taiwan, and China (Bejing Chengxuan auction).
Mr. Chou then established himself as an independent auction
house and since that time has been setting record prices
for Asian Numismatics. In April 2008 (the fifth Champion
auction), Champion sold 131 of 156 lots (84% success) and
realized over US $1,380,000. By Champion¡¯s sixth auction
in June 2008, 318 of 352 lots were sold (90% success), realizing
over US $1,914,539.
Most Champion auction items are graded by recognized third-party
certification companies in the United States. In addition,
Champion is the only NGC and PMG authorized dealer in greater
China. Champion also has close relationships with other
leading grading services and can work with them to certify
your coins for auction.
